Before increasing ad spend: can you fulfil the orders?
SNS Team · Reviewed 2026-11-05
If every increase in orders brings delays and complaints, spending more attracts more people to the same problem.
Identify the bottleneck and calculate what the team can deliver consistently. Test a limited increase and review fulfilment and collections. A bag store, maintenance centre or men's salon needs actual capacity behind growth. Save this review before increasing demand.
Test capacity before scaling campaigns
Review stock, preparation time, delivery capacity and enquiry responses. Identify the most constrained stage and the volume it can handle reliably. New sales need fulfilment capacity; otherwise delays and cancellations can change the outcome.
A practical step to try
Plan gradual increases, with conditions for reducing spend if response time, delivery delays or cancellations exceed agreed limits. Assign responsibility for notifying the Media Buyer about stock changes and deciding when the offer needs adjusting.
What percentage should the budget increase by?
There is no suitable percentage for every account. It depends on order economics, data volume, fulfilment capacity and auction response. Test a limited step and review completed outcomes. Message counts or registered orders do not provide unlimited permission to scale.
Review checklist
- Where does work queue up: stock, preparation, a specialist, delivery or collection?
- What volume can you fulfil consistently? Use real operating days, not the best day ever.
- Increase within capacity and track delays, cancellations, complaints and fulfilment cost.
- If quality deteriorates, repair the bottleneck before considering another demand increase.
