About

Founded in the worst year to found anything.

SNS started in 2019. Within months the country closed, budgets were cut to nothing, and marketing was the first line every business deleted. We are still here, and the way we sell is a direct consequence of what that taught us.

01 — The story

What a bad decade teaches you about marketing

A practice founded in 2019 spent its first years in conditions no business plan anticipated: a pandemic that shut the country, then a currency that lost most of its value against the dollar, then an import regime that made every landed cost a moving target. Owners were not asking how to grow. They were asking what to stop paying for.

That is a brutal environment in which to sell marketing, and it is the reason we stopped selling it the usual way. When a client is deciding whether your invoice or their supplier gets paid this month, "brand awareness" is not an argument. The only thing worth buying is an answer to the question which of my problems is actually costing me money — and most agencies are structured so that they never have to answer it.

So we inverted the model. The diagnosis is the product. The work is what follows if the diagnosis says work is warranted. If it says spend less, we say spend less, and we have said it.

Everyone learns to sell in a good market. What you sell in a bad one is what you actually believe. Why the diagnosis comes first

Fifteen years of senior experience behind the practice. Founded 2019. Still owner-run, with direct senior ownership by design.

02 — The hardest brief we ever took

Selling electric mobility in a country built on fuel

Egypt runs on petrol. Fuel is subsidised, mechanics on every corner know combustion engines and nothing else, and a hundred years of habit says a vehicle is something that drinks from a pump. Into that, we were asked to take Glide to market — Egypt’s first manufacturer of electric scooters and light mobility, and quite possibly the first in the region. Not an importer. A manufacturer, building here.

Nothing about it was a media problem. The objections were range, charging, resale value, whether parts would exist in three years, and whether a locally made electric vehicle could be trusted at all. No amount of paid reach answers those. What answered them was distribution and finance: shop-in-shop placements inside a national retail chain so people could sit on the thing, and a consumer instalment plan with a fintech partner so the price stopped being a wall.

We ran that account on retainer for three years — strategy, social, paid media, the website and store, product photography, printed lineup brochures, spec sheets, vehicle vinyl, factory signage. The marketing worked because the commercial structure underneath it was fixed first.

We were not competing with other scooters. We were competing with the petrol station, and with everyone's uncle who says electric will not last. What the category actually required

03 — How we work

Six things we hold to

  1. The diagnosis comes first and it is paid. Free strategy is a sales tactic and everyone in the room knows it. We charge for the thinking so the thinking can be honest.
  2. We report on money, not on reach. Impressions and engagement are inputs. If we cannot connect the work to revenue, margin or cost of acquisition, we say so rather than dress it up.
  3. Scope is written before it is invoiced. Nothing is billed that was not agreed in writing, and nothing agreed in writing is quietly dropped.
  4. We will tell you not to spend. If the constraint is the product, the price or the checkout, more media makes the problem more expensive, not smaller.
  5. We do not take competing clients. One brand per category at a time, and we will tell you when a conflict arises.
  6. Arabic is written, not translated. Copy in Arabic is written as Arabic and approved by the client before it appears anywhere.
04 — Fit

Who this is for, and who it is not

A good fit

Owner-led businesses past first revenue that have stopped growing and do not know why. Startups about to spend serious money who want to know first whether the model holds. Companies entering Egypt or the Gulf from outside.

A poor fit

Anyone looking for the cheapest available posting service. Anyone who has already decided what the answer is and wants an agency to execute it. Anyone who needs the work to start before it has been scoped.
